Montecalvo Aglianico

A complex nose combining mulberry, ripe strawberry and brown spice with delicate floral and violet notes. Robust on the palate with chunky bitter cherry and plum fruit and structured tannins.

Pronounced aromas of ripe black fruit, mocha and spice. The palate is plump and appealing with layers of ripe black cherry, bramble, dried fruit and coffee. Rich and mouth-filling with plump, sweet fruit balanced by fresh acidity.

Ripe stone fruit aromas with preserved lemon characters and floral notes. The palate has bright citrus peel and grapefruit, an appealing texture and minerality, fresh acidity and a gently savoury finish.

Lovely depth of colour, being an opaque, bloody red. The nose climbs from the glass with classic Barossa ferrous tones and summer pudding notes. The palate is rich yet alive, with a breadth of cassis, cinnamon, allspice and leather. It's a really rewarding glass of top Barossa Valley joy.
