Fortified wine is wine with which a spirit has been added to ‘fortify’ the wine. This was created in the past to preserve wine for a longer period of time. Despite new methods of preserving wine this style persists to this day due to complex flavours and aromas within the finished bottle. Port is possibly the most famous, but this category also includes Sherry, Madeira, Marsala and more.
Predominantly nutty bouquet (walnuts), with toasted, vegetable and balsamic notes reminiscent of noble wood, golden tobacco and autumn leaves. There are noticeable spicy, animal tones suggestive of truffles and leather. Full flavoured and structured in the mouth. Powerful, well-rounded and full bodied.
Rubis Chocolate Wine is a sumptuous infusion of Spanish Tempranillo grapes and precious essence of cacao, which together create an extraordinary taste sensation.
Crisp, fresh and uncompromisingly dry. Sharp yet elegant aromas of the flor yeast and toasted almonds. Completely dry on the palate with reminders of almonds.
Characteristically elegant, full bodied with a firm finish from powerful tannins. With concentrated fruits and well integrated alcohol with a spicy, peppery sweetness.
